Anybody for Kiel?

Yesterday "my second guitarist" who in fact is the "second main chief executiv of the Kiel-Retreat" and me jammed along and talked about the last development. I can pretty much feel how hard it is to decide either going to Kiel or to Crisfield in September. But it really is a pity that we Kiel folks once were 16 participants of whom now are around 7 left. Not everybody of the rest did cancel because of Crisfield. But several did. The more folks we are in Kiel, the cheaper the house will be for each of us. Reverse is true also.

There may be some folks who thought of coming to Kiel, but did not tell me so far. It is true for us too (as Danny says about his UK-Forum): „We are a friendly bunch. So jump in, the water is warm!“
Making music with friends is much more satisfying than playing alone in your sitting room. Imagine your banjo being accompanied by guitars, other banjos, tin whistles etc. Or vice versa. Even if you would name yourself a „bloddy beginner“, this Kiel retreat is for you! We all will earn from one another. This is Patrick´s way of teaching and learning and it went very well through the years. You can read this on his blog just now again.

And if your from Europe, it´s not as far as Crisfield :-)))

to be honest, I don't think it was a good idea to agree the BAHA-retreat on the weekend, Wolfgang had timed the Kiel-reteat a long time before.
It is a dilemma for those, who would like to join both events and it's hard for Wolfgang to receive more and more cancellations - even more, as he showed a lot of personal commitment organizing the the Kiel-retreat.

But no lament. Let's try to haul some more people to Kiel!
We have a wonderful location, we can make musik while we watch the ships roll in and still make musik while they roll away again, we can cook together (if we like, otherwise there is a pizza-service) and for the europeans it is much more around the corner.

so you are welcome

I agree with you in any way, Katrina. It is more than unfortunate, that the BAHA-retreat will take place at the same time then the Kiel-retreat. Especially after Wolfgang did organise the Kiel-retreat months before Patrick announced the BAHA-retreat. It should have been a better idea if the BAHA-retreat was timed to another weekend.
