"Found in Translation"

Just today I read about this great project. And found Abigail Washburn play the cello banjo. Phew. This video is really amazing.

Konzerte

The Villa

Bild
Our Kiel Jam will take place at the "Villa" in Falckensteiner Strand 35, 24159 Kiel. If you come with your own car it is strongly advised that you get in contact with me. The Villa has only 3 parking places in front of the building. All other cars will be towed away :-( Of course you can bring your luggage, but then you have to move the car away to the public parking place near by (~3 minutes by foot). I can tell/write you details if wanted. Everybody is supposed to bring his own sleeping bag, pillow, teddy bear, blanket with him as there are only foam mattresses in the rooms. A music stand and an instrument stand could be helpful. As is capo and tuner ;-) And don´t forget your instrument(s).

Kiel Jam Oct. 26th - 28th

I thought it would be helpful to collect several of my previous posts about the other Retreats of the "Flying Circus of European Frailers" in Kiel so that newbies get an idea what we were doing. Just click on one of the following links: http://banjo-kiel.blogspot.de/2009/09/kiel-retreat.html http://banjo-kiel.blogspot.de/2009/09/kiel-retreat-2009.html For information about this year`s jam go to http://banjo-kiel.blogspot.de/2012/01/kiel-jam.html http://banjo-kiel.blogspot.de/2012/08/lets-jam-together.html And here are some photos from our last meeting in Dublin: http://www.flickr.com/photos/kolicom/sets/72157628180841829/ (go to the 6th row and watch five pics from the session, the other photos are just Dublin pics). You may see there that we´re not only frailers, although most of us have their banjo with 'em.

CD-Order

Trying not to add too many commercials   to this blog I refrained from mentioning names of brands (other than musicians) on this blog. But I have to tell you this: Yesterday I ordered Michael J. Miles book with tablature of "American Bach". Some hours later I got this email: "Wolfgang- Thanks for your order with ...! USPS (1) Michael J. Miles: American Bach (Book) Your CD has been gently taken from our ... shelves with sterilized contamination-free gloves and placed onto a satin pillow. A team of 50 employees inspected your CD and polished it to make sure it was in the best possible condition before mailing. Our world-renowned packing specialist lit a local artisan candle and a hush fell over the crowd as he put your CD into the finest gold-lined box that money can buy. We all had a wonderful celebration afterwards and the whole party marched down the street to the post office where the entire town of Portland waved "Bon Voyage!" to your package, on its

Punch Brothers

Frailers, come all ye

Some members of the old gang have sent me their applications, some didn´t til now. This is to remind you not to postpone it for too long. First come first served. Bunks are limited. Please let me know your decision soon, so that "the committee" can start planning ;-) Hope to see you all again (and some more)!
